    basic accommodation

The stay was for a family getaway, and we spent one night in a queen room with stunning views of the garden. The food at the pub was delicious, especially the meals we had right before Christmas when the place looked beautifully decorated. The location made it easy to explore the nearby historic site, which was just a short trip away. I will definitely consider coming back to enjoy more of the beautiful scenery and great dining.

    water quality

The Fox and Hounds Inn has stunning bay views that completely took my breath away upon entering the room. Having a small kitchen allowed for easy meal prep, making my stay more convenient. Dining at the attached pub provided a cozy ambiance, with my meal of chicken parmi and salmon cooked perfectly. However, I faced some issues. Upon arrival, the check-in process was inconvenient due to quirky reception hours, which meant waiting longer than expected. Additionally, while the water was not drinkable and had a brown appearance, the hotel did provide free bottled water, which was appreciated. Despite this, the lack of basic hygiene standards in water quality was disappointing and something to consider.

Our stay was delightful, especially when the staff upgraded us to a spacious family room. The view of the bay was breathtaking, and we enjoyed exploring the natural beauty around Port Arthur. Plus, the bistro served delicious meals that everyone in the family loved.

My wife says that the heating in the bedrooms could be improved.

good stay but some areas for improvement

The room was clean, comfy, and nicely sized. We appreciated the affordable laundry facilities, a nice touch for travelers. The restaurant area offered a cozy ambiance for evening drinks, and our dinner meals were an absolute highlight! The garden view was lovely, perfect for relaxing after a long day.
